Yeah that didn't make a lot of sense did it? Was going by the article which states: "frozen in February, melted by mid-March". 1.5 months - probably not written with edmonton in mind.
He should put up some ramps and build a skatepark in the summer months. Still a dumb idea in my opinion.
I know a family in Kelowna who have a year-round rink. Like fully functional. Smaller than NHL size though. The difference between them and fernando is that they have the space to build something like this.
