Default GAME 2: STAMPS at Argonauts

Game Time: Saturday at 1pm

Are we going to see a repeat of last game? I hope so.. I don't see why not the way the Argos played against the Eskimos and the way the Stamps' defense dominated the game against the best QB in the CFL right now.

OFFENSE:
Henry Burris started his last game for the Red and White last season only to be pulled out of the game in favour of Drew Tate. Tate came off the bench and almost won the game for the Stamps. He threw 263 yards and 2 TDs. The only reason the Argos won was because the Stamps' D had a meltdown with the penalty parade that gave the Argos a chnace to win the game on field goal 31-29. That was the beginning of Tate as a starting QB for the Stamps. DT played well enough to win against the Alouettes last week. He threw a couple of INT but other than he was okay.
I hope to see a repeat performance by Nik Lewis. He showed the management last game the reason to re-sign him with good money soon. I love the TD where he leapt like Superman from 4 yard line.
R Marquay McDaniel might draw in the lineup ahead of Landan Talley. I thought McDaniel deserves to be in the lineup and definitely outplayed Talley in the pre-season. RB Jon Cornish won the Canadian Player of the Week after his performance vs Montreal. It looks like LaMarcus Coker will draw in the lineup on who's expense I am not sure yet.
The Offensive line as a group played well. C Mark Dewitt struggled a little bit but other than the group were solid giving Drew Tate lots of time and gave Cornish some big holes to run.

DEFENSE:
They stopped Anthony Calvillo's offense! The whole group played great. They stopped the run, they frustrate Calvillo and the DBs were awesome. Bennett was the big reason why the Stamps gave up Tisdale for practically nothing. I enjoyed watching Quincy Butler last season especially on his first game in the CFL against the Als last season. He proved his good play in his first CFL game was not a fluke. Against Toronto, they will face another good test against Ricky Ray's offense.

SPECIAL TEAM:
The special team group was okay and still improving. Punter Maver was okay and did his job but there is still room for improvement. Stamps still need a better blocking and hopefully we will see Larry Taylor in the endzone tomorrow. Special Teams will be tested as they will try to stop one of the best returner in the CFL in Chad Owens.

GO STAMPS GO!!
