Ok so I decided to give D3 a try. Played through normal before coming to post on here. A few comments about the game itself before some auction questions.

The game itself I thought was average. Some nice story and fun characters, but in no way superb or new in any way. Diablo 2 was definitely the high point of the series. Will be interesting to see how long people play this game. I bought it with the justification that 'Blizzard always has the nicest cut scenes in gaming' and was not disappointed there.

Normal was definitely way too easy, but I do realize the difficulty will be in the higher skill levels. I only died twice all through normal (once during Belial and once during Diablo) and those two were more just getting the feel of things than actual challenge. Because of the ease the game felt short, though it does appear to be as long as the previous versions (minus any expansions obviously).

I actually feel a bit cheated with the content as Blizzard is obviously using the higher difficulties and constant gearing up for 'replay value' even though it's not ACTUAL replay content. Kinda lazy on their part if you ask me, but I went in knowing that's they way they had it built so I can't blame anyone but myself. Just had to see what the fuss was about. Not excited about another Blizzard game that focuses on farming.

The only thing left that is intriguing to me (though trying some other classes may hold a small amount of promise) is the real money auction house. And that's where my first question is:

In your opinions, would it be smart rush through nightmare and hell to get to inferno to focus on farming the top items, or is there real money value in a lot of the items moving up the difficulties? IE, people being lazy and just wanting to purchase items that will make their climb easier?
