The inspiration for Greek-style pizza is
ladenia which I believe comes from the island of Kimolos and translates roughly to olive oil bread. Traditionally it is made with lots of tomatoes and onions. Not much in the way of cheese is found, other than feta.
I've made this and I can attest that the dough (crust) is very similar to the Greek-style pizzas one gets in Calgary. Allegedly
ladenia has been made on Kimolos since the Venetian conquest of Argentiera (13th century), though the dates are imprecise.
