I'm guessing that the thinking was take a swing at Jagr and see how much he wanted and his interest in Calgary.
One of those two became a road block so Hudler was plan B.
But I'm good with that as I see Hudler as getting a 50 point player for reasonable dollars and adding a 30% surge to Cervenka's effectiveness this season with a fellow Czech in the fold to help him get acclimatized.
Kind of like signing 1.5 players instead of 1
