You state the bolded to try and downplay Belgium's history to make a point but fail to mention that they were in the 5 world cups prior to that, one of which they were beaten by the Argies in the semi final. A much richer history than ROI who you accused earlier of underachieving and having a "good pedigree"?

I agree with Diane. Too many teams will dilute the quality of competition. More teams/games IMO does not necessarily equate to a better tournament.
