I say play all the bowls and take the best two teams and play them after the bowls.
in ten years this will go to a 10 team playoff and basically ruin college football. I will quit watching it after that.

Couldn't agree more. I don't think this changes anything. College football just isn't built for playoffs. 4, 8, 12, +1s, etc will all result in controversy for the last team left out. Unlike college basketball with its 64-68 schedule which includes everyone with a reasonable (and unreasonable) shot at winning the NC, football can't handle that schedule.
I blame this crap on Boise State and their blue field. If they weren't a one-trick pony, they could join a legit conference.
