Forcing their priests to be abstinent which is utterly against human sexual nature and probably has a lot to do with the institutional rampant sexual abuse in the church's history..
A church founded on the principles of a desert hippie which has created for itself a VAST empire of wealth and power spanning nearly 2 millenia.
Its an organization which stands seemingly almost always on the wrong side of modern social issues, and such things as its strong support for Saudi Arabia's anti-blasphemy resolution in the UN are just one of the many mind boggling things this institution does which makes you wonder about the sanity of the people at the top.
Thankfully the strongholds left in the Catholic church are the poor, uneducated and 3rd world nations of this world. Give them time, they will do what modern Ireland is doing and the rest of the EU has been doing for decades, leaving in droves from this abomination of an institution.. I can only imagine what Jesus would say about the modern Vatican and this church, going by his "teachings" its hard to imagine anything other than he would be utterly disgusted and ashamed it was done in his name.
