I don't think this guy has a mental illness.

I don't think this was worthy of jail time or a criminal conviction. IMO of course. I don't think he meant to hurt this kid. I think he's just a petty idiot.

I think he's a dink. I think he's a bad coach a bad role model and all the other terrible things.

I don't think the kid deserve it.

This guy is in no way comparable to kids who suffer real child abuse. You know like beatings and verbal abuse.

I think it's offensive to compare this to kids who are assaulted violently by parents, coaches or whoever including other kids. This kid won't be scarred for life. He's not gonna need counseling. This coach isn't a danger to society.
K, but you did mention your surprise at criminal charges. When we brought up the reasons, both legal and moral, you started acting like that wasn't part of your point. However it clearly was.

I didn't question your other comments, though some did. But most of us did clue in on the criminal charges thing cause as we've mentioned, it's not only legally there, but morally there too.

So then I was just confused about that.

Now maybe you think criminal charges means this guy is going to jail, or will be like other, more serious child offenders. No, he won't and I don't think anyone here suggested that. But it is legally and morally wrong and it is not surprising nor excessive to see charges being laid. This is not a family looking to cash in or make a point.

And no, no one is trolling you. Or clowning you. Perhaps it's just a problem with the way you write your posts, as opposed to your actual opinion, but you brought up some pretty big discussion topics and we went for them.
