Bows are good for AS (life on hit, hatred regen, slightly easier time kiting due to faster animation), plus they have a nice flat damage bonus from Archery. As a SS DH, I give slight preference to 2Hxbow, due to the 50% crit damage bonus that it affords to the burst. I find my style tends to maximize the burst damage from SS, so I want that to be as big as possible.

The real gem for the DH class is the 1hxbow though. Not only is it fast to attack, but they are the only bows with the DH specific bonuses (max disc, hatred regen). Additionally, you can dual wield and get that 25% speed bonus, but hard to get 2 with good DPS but they can be used with a good quiver (which can also have your +disc/hatred regen as well). Good luck betting one with a DPS that rivals the other options though, especially on the AH.

That said, I wouldnt let the bow type get in the way of an upgrade, as it all evens out in the end unless you have a build/play style that really capitalizes on one or the other.

As for your build, I am very suprised not to see Smoke Screen in there. Multishot is ok, but it is a huge hatred hog and EA/NT does a fairly good job at AE clearing anyway. I am guessing this is the result of you being very well geared for your progression, and ripping through stuff without the need for the SS

Hungering Arrow/Devouring is much better than Shatter shot, especially since you have a bunch of AE stuff anyway. You need single target damage for boss/elites/champs more than you need multiple AE clearing options.

My build is here:

I really don't like Ball lightning, as the DPS punch of NT doesn't seem to be there - they both claim to do the same damage but maybe I am just delusional. Going to consider EA/Frost Arrow. I really struggled getting rid of tactical Advantage, but in the end it really hasn't caused me any issues plus allowed me to get both Steady Aim and Archery into the mix without losing Sharpshooter. If I can get above 30% crit hit chance, I will remove Sharpshooter for TA, as I think that is almost the break even point

For Bait the Trap, I can see with the high DPS it would work well to burn stuff down quickly, but for me the the Jagged Spikes are a much better option. They really are the solution if I come across a pack affixes that I have trouble with, like Mortar/Invuln/Fast. It adds a rather large chunk of damage even if you just run in circles and drop one when your disc is full. It can also be used if your templar blocks something in a door, you just walk up behind him and drop2-3 caltrops and watch them rip the pack apart
