I am not the biggest tennis fan but went to Wimbledon today to see it for myself. The day started off at 5:45 am leaving the flat and making my way to the queue by 6:15. I got a queue card issued to me (#1984) and a booklet explaining the queue etiquette. Some of the people had been there camping out since saturday and only about 500 people from the queue made it into each of the show courts (Centre, Court 1, and Court 2). By 10:00 am one of the stewards told us there was over 7,000 people in the queue to get in and way more people showed as the day went on.
Here are some of my pictures from the day:

This is Court 18 in a break in the match between Mikhail Youzhny and Donald Young. You can see Centre Court in the background.

This is Court 12 and a serve from Benjamin Becker

This is James Blake against Becker on Court 12. Blake sucked today. Notice the ridicules Asian spectators. It was really hot today and the one lady looks like she has a sleeping bag over her head, one has a fur lined jacket on, and yet another has a hat with a cover, a jacket over top and gloves on.

This is Court 18 again watching Angelique Kerber and Lucie Hradecká. This was an entertaining game, and even though she lost, Hradecká consistently had a harder serve than Blake.
I also watched a bit of the Men's Doubles match between Ball/Bellucci and Bracciali/Knowle. Doubles was very entertaining and I would recommend watching a Pro doubles match if you get a chance.
Overall I really enjoyed the day. The grounds were very impressive and for a whole day of tennis for £20 it is more than worth it. I am very interested in going again (didn't do Pimm's or strawberries and cream this time), maybe a show court if I can get tickets. One of the better sporting events I have been too and possibly the best value.
