Calgary comes alive as Sled Island comes of age

The past four days, the entire downtown core and surrounding areas came alive like no other non-sports or Stampede related occasion, with the streets packed with those making their way on foot or by bike to one of the more than 30 venues, or loitering in front, waiting to get in, having a smoke or a chat, or simply not wanting to leave after the last note had been played.

It was the year that Sled, arguably, hit the big leagues.
