Yup, exactly. Fans of opposing teams can harp on the fact we bring up his younger age but.. it's true. The kid is genuinely a late bloomer and his later birth year compacts the "issue". Jankowski was on no ones radar two years ago but he continued to get better even as he grew into an awkward large size.
If Mark would have had this growth from 14-15 he would have been drafted by an OHL team. Instead he had it later and is still growing into that frame.
He's very much a project but there is certainly reason to be optimistic about this pick. It's hard to doubt his skill.
