If the argument is that he would be top 10 in next years draft then 3 years counting from now is the equivalent of the latter part of your 1-2 years. The fact that he's planning on pursuing the collegiate route stretches out the time table some. Keep in mind he's only 17 and is coming from a program outside the norm he'll need additional time to adjust to the pro-schedule moreso then the guys who go through Major Junior.
