Sure, he could sign his ELC tomorrow. But he hasn't even played in the CHL or the USHL, so he's still a few steps away from the AHL. Whereas TT has been playing against men in SM-Liiga.

Picking a guy from the BCHL should make anyone nervous. We picked a guy who hasn't even started playing at that level yet, and he doesn't seem to be in any kind of hurry to start upping his quality of competition. If I had to pick a prospect to be a future Group 6 UFA, Jankowski would fit the bill perfectly.
