I like the pick. Haven't seen him play but back when Feaster had the season ticket holder meeting he mentioned a player that would take a bit longer to develop but he believed would be one of the best players of this draft class. So they seem to have know for quite a while that this was their guy.
Dropping seven spots was risky if they truly believed that this kid was going in the first round but the payoff is a pretty high second round pick that sounds like it is going to have a decent pick available as everyone has been saying the top fifty is really good but beyond that it gets weak.
Plus our hockey guys looked amped at the pick. Wisebrod looked like a kid on christmas morning when they showed the Flames table before their pick. And the rest just looked giddy. Really great to see a bunch of guys that just love this kind of stuff.
