It's not necessarily that big of a risk though. The majority of successful NCAA players sign with their drafting team without incident.

the new CBA won't change a thing. Jankowski was drafted under the current CBA rules.
The same thing happened to 2002 and 2003 draftees. The old, old CBA applied to them, not the current CBA rules
