I had a really bad back issue for over 6 months. MRI, physio, the whole thing. Eventually, someone diagnosed it as being a Hip/SI joint problem. I went from having very little recovery over a 4-5 month span to a very quick recovery following. Turns out, just had to turn things down in terms of back exercises, and turn up hip, back and hamstring stretches.
Anyway, after having been in near immobilized pain for a good deal of the last year, I empathize.
One thing I can recommend for the poos: Lots of water/peppermint tea and apples.
