I don't think he has a plan to ride out the rest of this season with Chavez or Carreno, but he's not going to make a panic move nor should he.

It's certainly gonna be tough to watch some of these games with the pitching staff right now but short term pain for long term gain. There is going to be some moves coming, likely minor ones but it's also made more challenging by the fact that their is no trade market right now in baseball
I don't believe it is a panic move, Jays need to add a Pitcher. The longer they wait the more damage will be done to their Relief Pitchers.

They don't need to target a #1 or #2 or #3 type of starter but they need to add a 4th or 5th pitcher.

There is a long way to go.....

Fact is Jays have 1 real Starter, 2 Career Minor leaguers, 1 Rookie who has really struggled and Brett Cecil (not sure how he will do)
