I haven't had my morning coffee yet, so admittedly I'm not thinking with 100% of my full mental capacity, but how does the math work such that men have twice the average number of lifetime sexual partners as women? Unless there's very widespread male bi- and/or homosexuality, shouldn't the averages be roughly the same for both genders?

Or do those figures refer to the median number of partners, not the average?
