Agreed, but how much is a good blackout covering? Just from a quick search on blindsgalore.ca it seems to be around $100-$150 per window.... but I have no idea on the quality.

He did have at least 4 or 5 windows in his basement plus a screen door.

I guess in the end it depends on the setup of the basement and whether it's strictly a theater room or more of a multifunctional room before you can really make a decision.
