The Blues have been busy signing several of their players over the last few days. Peter Forsberg has agreed to restructure his contract. An extra year has been added to the current deal, in exchange for Peter taking a small pay cut, to 7.4 M per annum.

"Peter, when healthy, is capable of being a top CPHL player. We believe his injury woes are over and look forward to having him lead our team into the playoffs. Peter has assured us that he will continue to play in the league for years to come. We are very pleased with todays contract."

In other news several other players put their Johnny Handcocks on the dotted line:

- Patrick Stefan has agreed to a new 3 yr, 5.7 million dollar deal. "Patrick, a former first pick overall in the NHL, has finally started to put his game together. All aspects of being a complete player are there, and we believe he will have a major offensive breakthrough this year."

-Igor Valeev, 3yr 1.8M contract. "Igor will continue his development in the minors, but we see some potential in him. He's being treated like a project, and his performace will be evaluated at the end of the year".

-Sergei Varlamov, 3 yr 3.3 M. "This deal still has me smiling." Blues GM was heard saying - " To secure a player who scored 21 goals while adding 20 assists last year for a 1.1 M dollar deal is just fanfakentastic."

-Brian Pothier, 3year 3M deal. "Brian is slotted for our 3rd line D pairing. He was scheduled to make 1.3 M this year, so in exchange for a longer term deal, and protection in the waiver draft, he signed a longer term deal for less money. I believe both sides are really happy"

-Dave Karpa. 2yr 1.2 M. "Dave is the veteran on our AHL club. We believe he can do some good in continuing teaching the kids on what to do to make it the bigs. All we have to do now, is get some kids on the farm that he can teach, and we're set".

-Steve Poapst, 2 yr 1.6M. "Steve was scheduled to make 1M dollars this year, but just like Brian, decided for a longer term deal in exchange for less money. This will likely be his last contract, and Steve is expecting to retire a Blue."

-Darrel Scoville, 3yr 3M. "Darrel is a valuable depth defenceman, we can depend on, if injuries arise. Darrel is also a huge Robyn Regehr fan, and as part of the deal, the Blues management promised to inquire about his favourite player possibly joining the Blues."
