Default Pocket Planes Thread [MRG]

This thread is about the NimbleBit game Pocket Planes, the spiritual successor to Tiny Tower. Tiny Tower was one of the most popular games on iOS in 2011, and Pocket Planes is deep enough to be even better! The best thing is that the game is free!

Pocket Planes has a notable feature where you can team up with others in contests to win Bux (currency to buy planes and upgrades for them). We are using the Calgarypuck name to work together. Join us!

It takes a while for the game to initially find it, so if it doesn't work right away, so try again in a few minutes after your first attempt.

Getting started:
- Make sure to pay attention to the tutorial! You're going to be lost initially without following it.
- From your starting location, load your starting planes with passengers or cargo depending on what they have, and get them earning money for you.
- Get familiar with the Menu button, specifically the Market and Parts buttons. The Market is where you get parts to build planes or buy complete planes, and the Parts button is where you assemble parts you've collected to make planes.
- Go to Flight Crew, tap your name at the top, and change it to Calgarypuck if you want to play in our group for Events (see the Menu button for the events page).
- Have fun!

Some helpful tips (since the game gives you very little information!):

- Cities with a black dot are Class 1, and only Class 1 planes can fly there. Blue dots are Class 2, which allows Class 1 and 2 planes, and Red dots are Class 3, which allow all planes. Try not to buy too many small cities, save up for Class 2 and 3 airports!
- Don't spent your bux upgrading single seat/storage planes. As you get better planes, your bux will be better spent upgrading these bigger planes.
- Don't be afraid to micromanage. If you're struggling to get a group of fares that go to the same location, take two different ones and leave one at the destination you choose. Another plane can take that layover later with a common destination from another fare to make you more money.
- Buy parts instead of planes. It's slightly cheaper to build a plane, but every bux counts.
- If you're bored, you can collect gold (1 and 10 gold pieces) and bux (rare) while watching your planes fly.
