The last 48 hours at work have been absolutely ridiculous! Yesterday I had a family occupy a table for 4-5 hours (it's a table right by the pool and they were snacking and drinking throughout the day). The man wants to close out his tab. side note: his wife has been drinking double patron, triple sec, and lime juice all day, she almost downed an entire bottle of patron, her three drinks alone were $54. The tab was $144. The family leaves, I go clean up the table, look at the check, and............ $10 tip. A $10 TIP ON A FREAKING $144 CHECK?!?!?! um.... you have got to be kidding me. That's not even 10%. Irate. Absolutely Irate. I crumpled up the check and threw it on the floor as hard as I could. I picked it back up though because I had to close out the check. I swear if I ever find out my family or friends do not tip at least 18% at a restaurant, bar, etc. I will disown you!!! It's a straight up slap in the servers face. Now if the server is terrible then I understand not tipping them 20% (which is the norm in the USA), however, I give 100% at my job and then get pooped on by a-wads with a stupid $10 tip on $144. You can imagine what mood I am now in after this bullhole. But that's not all... oh no. The day gets even better.
