This would depend on the woman, but here's an idea. Buy her an inexpensive engagement ring. Then for your honeymoon, take a cruise down to the eastern carribean. Buy a duty free ring at one of the big sellers like Diamonds International.
One of the good things about DI, is that you can always trade up and they will give you a credit at the price you paid for your item. So you can get something at the first island, then check out some of the other islands and if you find something you like more, exchange it.
