i never expected it to be cheaper at the dealer.in a lot of cases i am finding that dealers are lowering thier prices a bit to get closer to "jobber" pricing. perhaps i have been brainwashed, but i think that genuine parts are manufactured/remanfactured to a higher standard than jobber parts. if the difference was $30 or so, I'd go for the dealer part.
i wasted three minutes of my life and called. i was told for a canadian sedan version of a Yaris the right fender would be $187. more than i expected - but it could be reasonable if you had to order one online for $140 and pay $20 or so for shipping.
