You are right that was poor wording on my part, schizophrenia is not a curable disease at the current time, however it is possible to treat the symptoms, which would be a much more apt statement.

The general principle of my post remains the same, while they are both crimes, and both very disturbing crimes at that, that alone does not make them comparable, especially when judging the characters of the offenders. I treaty dislike the fact that someone is saying that due to the fact that there are genetic components to personality disorders that they are the same as a noted disease such as schizophrenia. In one case the person is still capable of logical thought, in the other it is greatly diminished.
