The advice given here to light that candle and send the wasps to their fiery grave is solid, but it's lacking step 2. Step 2 is run away. Quickly. Do not hesitate to watch, film, or otherwise record the event for posterity, because it will turn out very poorly for you and your skin.
You see, as Dion's post clearly illustrates, wasps are generally angry beings and have a fuse as short as a...wasp. The second you hit that button to light the fire and it makes that loud banging sound, the wasps will be on to you. And let me tell you from first hand experience, wasps sting first and ask questions later.
My advice to you is to kill them with fire, but for all that is holy please leave the back door wide open and easily accessible. Then, watch the show through the safety of a window. My record is 7 stings at once. Let us know how it works out for you.
