Dude, two totally different cases. Two totally different people. You don't have to be a psychiatrist to see that.
One has a history of violence and very egocentric behavior and committed a crime that took a lot of planning. The other just snapped.
I'm not saying Li should ever be released, but he is ill. This guy is just a sociopath with no regard to others feelings or well being. He might be sick in some ways, (or at least different in ways that are hard for us to fathom) but he is obviously together enough to plan, to carry out, and to flee. He is not 'sick' in the way Li truly is 'sick'.
Again, I'm not defending Li's actions, it was a horrific crime and a sad story, and I don't think he should ever be released. But to say people like this (Li) should just be shot is not understanding the situation.
As for Luka... well I don't believe in capital punishment, but if he was killed either in capture or in sentencing I wouldn't care. Like I said, different situation and person than Li.
