That's definitely the brillance of some of the sketches, especially the ones that you mentioned. When they are used the audience should be giddy to see them, rather than "oh, this again." I used to feel that way with "What's Up With That?". It got really played out after awhile.
What I've always liked about a former cast member hosting is the audience is treated with some great surprises, especially when those favorite old sketches come out. When Maya Rudolph hosted in early 2012, seeing Bronx Beat again with Amy Poehler was a favorite of mine. JT made a special appearance on that one too.
I even thought the Jeopardy! sketches got a little old during the Ferrell days, but when he comes back to host, it's fun to see.
