Probably the best maps in the game came from the Karkland expansion.
Having never played Battlefield before BF3, and therefore have no nostalgia for old maps, I really dislike the Karkand maps. I have played a lot of Conquest on the 360, and there are some great maps, all with a little bit of a difference balance between infantry and vehicles:

  • For pure a pure infantry grinder, there is Operation Metro
  • Mostly infantry focused, with the occasional tank, are Seine Crossing and Grand Bazaar
  • Bringing vehicles a little more into the mix we have Tehran Highway, Damavand Peak, Noshahr Canals.
  • Finally, in the "you'll get clobbered if you aren't in a tank" category, there is Kharg Island, Caspain Border, Operation Firestorm.
So, the mix is definitely there for Conquest. I hardly play Rush, so I can't comment on how well the maps work for that.
