Uncle Sam could soon be coming after you on Canadian soil.

According to an article in Embassy Magazine, the Harper government is moving forward on several initiatives that could give U.S. FBI and DEA agents the ability to pursue suspects across the land border and into Canada.
This is interesting. They mention later in the article that this is to combat criminals escaping across the border and evading police. Although, by the phrasing it seems this is a problem for Canadian police losing suspects into the US, which confuses me as to why they want the FBI and DEA in Canada.

If this is indeed to help either side catch perpetrators on the border, then I'd think a better joint communication infastructure should be set up to allow for border intercept. Mind you, I have no idea how it's handled today but I can't imagine letting 2 US federal agencies operating rights in our country is going to do anything but piss people off.

Not only that but the article mentions US aerial surveillance as a possibility too, which does not sit well with me.

There must be more details to this though. No mention of whether or not Canadian police share the same right to enter the US, and if this is a case of a one-way operation then add an extra 100 "hell no"'s to my stance.
