Probably a little late on the random musings, but here they are anyways.

I have watched it twice, and loved it both times. Just a solid superhero action flick. If you're expecting "Gone With the Wind" then give your head a shake. Its a movie about a cheesy super soldier, an angry green dude, norse god and cocky billionaire with toys.

I think it appeals more to the comic book and superhero nerds than it does to people just wanting to see a great movie. I can see how the types that aren't really into Superheros, or the comics, hear all the hype and see the broken records and go check it out only to be either confused or disappointed.

Onto the movie. I was impressed with how each character both had their moment, and also got the chance to be awesome in some action sequences.

Captain America was outmatched in just about every fight, but he kept on trucking. When Stark told him to " call it" and he called the play, I thought that was a good moment for him.

The team fighting each other; I always thought as far as strength and power went, Thor was essentially the Superman of Marvel. So I found it interesting that Iron Man could give him a run for his money. But then Thor took on the Hulk and did quite well....so I don't really know how they all stack up against each other.

There was one continuous shot action sequence that started with Black widow jumping on the flying bike thing, then follows to Iron Man coming to help Captain America on the street (and using Cap's shield to multiply Iron Man's hand blast) Then follows up to Hawkeye on the roof and finishes with Thor and the Hulk taking down the flying serpent thing. That whole sequence was pure awesome.

"Point Break""Legolas""Reindeer Games" and Hulk punching Thor. Hilarious

Just a really good summer action movie.

As for this weird comparison to Chronicle. In this day and age of constant film adaptations and remakes, I thought it was a fresh idea but that's about it. The acting was average for a film that needs solid acting to be effective. I think there were also whole pages of the script that called for each character to scream at the top of their lungs. I swear those kids screamed for the whole damned movie. It really started to annoy the hell out of me.
