Get them to help you get "fitted" for a skate. If the skate is in your price range buy it. If not tell tham you will think about it than try and find the skate or one similar at a sport chek, canadian tire or another chain store.
This is what I would do.
I'm still using 15 year old ccm vaku tacks. Already replaced the blade three times.
I would like to buy new skates but I have not skated in a couple years. However if there is cp shinny, I'm in.

I wouldn't recommend Pro Skate Service to anyone. Only go there if they have a better price on anything but skates. I have heard enough horror stories about people being improperly fitted for skates as Pro Skate. Heck, I was even improperly fitted for a pair myself. Pro Skate just ain't the same since the old owners sold the stores so they could buy GRAF Canada.
