In March, prior to the completion of financial records for the year, it was predicted that the AESC would run a deficit of $3.25 million, with $1.1 million attributed to the Abbotsford Heat supply fee agreement which guarantees the local AHL hockey squad break-even revenue of $5.7 million. If the team falls short of that mark, the city compensates the difference.

I've always wondered how much money the City of Abbotsford would lose without the Heat as their main tenant at the AESC? If it's more than $1.1 million, what's all the complaining for? Be thankful it's only $1.1 million and not $3 million.
Regardless of the losses, I'm just going to keep enjoying having them here while I still can.
