Opulent YES! However there seems to be a lot of old and royalty money down there. Don't know what this means for future generations, or should the oil ever run out (or become obsolete).

I think that's why we're seeing such large projects funded by the UAE government. I'm pretty sure they'd like tourism to ideally take over as one of their main industries if oil does ever run out.
