I don't know what to think about Carruth.
Overall, he's been solid. Rarely has he been needed to make that huge save.
But that's really the difference in this series. Brossoit has been able to make that Kipper-esque save that he has no business of stopping and giving his team life. Right after Edmonton's 3rd goal, Portland came back seconds later with a shot that would have been a sure goal on Carruth, but with Brossoit in net, he stopped it, and the Oil Kings dominated for the rest of the period.
You just can't let the shot in with under a minute left. I find myself caring as much for the Portland team almost as much as I do for the Flames. It hurts. Just like the Getzlaf goal early on in March. I hate it. Very bummed about this loss.
I hope they can take it to 7. This is a series I really don't want to end. The WHL playoffs have been pretty meh until this series, but it has been unreal.
It's not all bad. One of our prospects playing an important role on their team will be headed to the Memorial Cup. I just want it to be Sven... Brossoit will have another great opportunity to do it next season.
