I'll update the NHL in Seattle thread with some news but there will be no NHL in Seattle without the NBA at least in the SODO iteration.
Most likely it will be something like a relocated NBA franchise plays in the Seattle Center until the new building and, at that point, an NHL team would come via expansion.

I never said that it was incapable of hosting NHL games. I was quite clear in saying that it was incapable of being anything but a placeholder until a new arena was built, much like how you describe the NBA situation.
