That's a good question.
I'm not a 100% convinced that the Islanders will go anywhere but New York... That being said, it looks bleak for any possibility of a suitable arena in the New York area.
The one thing I think may happen, and of course I'm just a spectator, is that I think the next team that's on the verge of having to move will be sold to an interest within the US. Either Seattle or Kansas or else where.
Quebec City is really putting themselves in a perfect situation for an expansion team. They'll have a new arena in 2015 and a local owner/government chomping at any chance to fill it with a NHL tenant.
