I find this chart especially interesting because of what it indicates about which direction the opinion is trending for each group. Between 2010–11, for each one of the religiously unaffiliated (+4%), Catholics (+8%), White mainline protestants (+5%) and Black protestants (+3%), there appears to be a gradually increasing acceptance of same-sex marriage. But for only White Evangelical protestants, there is a sharp decline of -8%.
