Saw it Thursday at midnight, dudes dressing up, it was a massive nerd fest.

Movis was a lot of fun. It had plenty of action, it was emotional when it needed to be, and it was genuinely funny as well. There was enough cheese to know you were watching a comic book movie and it didn't take itself too seriously and that's a good thing.

The thing that stood out for me was the genuine laughs. They weren't the lame one liners a la James Bond movies. There were some solid laughs with great timing. Thor's line about Loki being adopted was awesome.

One of my main concerns about Avengers going in was the distribution of screen time amongst the main characters. I didn't feel like any of the mains had too much or too little. Whedon spread it out nicely.

Who is this Thanos? I'm not a comic book guy, so I had to look up who that was. Is he badass? Is he big in the Marvel Universe? Who did he usually do battle with?

Solid movie, a lot of fun. 8/10

Thanos is basically the biggest threat in the Marvel universe. He is extremely intelligent, technologically advanced and is also one of the biggest physical threats in Marvel. That is combined with his constant amibition to please Death, which he attempts to do by basically whiping away large chunks of the universe's population. He usually succeeds in his conquests, but is a self-sabotager and always leaves some way for the heroes to win.

Basically, if Marvel does it right, Thanos will be the biggest badass to ever hit the screen. He basically kicks the snot out of the entire Marvel super hero roster whenever he wishes.
