Anivia was pretty good at holding the lane, but times I've played with her I have struggled to get kills, which leads to a very weak endgame for me. If the team fights start before she gets Deathcap, her AoE is very ineffective. But if you get kills, then yeah, she is really solid for an endgame caster.
Never played Kassadin before - I know he is a hard counter in mid, but is he decent endgame? Never played Fizz at all either.
Any suggestions for good top laners?

Kassadin is freakin boss. He is my go-to AP character and whenever I play him I almost always get a ton of kills and have only 1 or 2 deaths. The thing about Kassadin is that he is an assassin so he needs to be played as one. Don't engage in straight up fights. Use him to hit an enemy champ and then dash away. He has some pretty great nuke damage and his teleport makes it almost impossible to catch and kill him especially if you take flash as well.
