edit, I just realized you took that pic from a window from the nice dry warm inside of your house.
Anyways I 'd find a way up there to cover it up, put the vent back and drill a screw in or something to keep the rain out of the hole before it leaks through your ceiling drywall.
Why does it look like there are 2 vents right beside each other ?

Thanks for the reply! I'll try to find someone I can borrow a ladder from so I can at least cover it up for the time being since the window I took this picture from doesn't open up so I can't just climb onto the roof.

Maybe I can get to it from another window.
Not sure why there are two brown vents right next to each other either... I vaguely remember there were three vents (the two brown ones and one metal) there before but that doesn't seem right that they would be so close together.

In any case that metal vent cover has long since gone missing. Scouted around my yard and had a quick look around the windows I can see my roof and didn't see anything.
