This phone will be 6 months old before I'm eligible for a HUP. Although, it gives me enough time to figure out how to get the best price while on a $27/month plan. I'm still a little shocked they let me do that with the Captivate.

It'll probably be July/August before a Canadian carrier gets it, so it'll only be 3 months after that before you're eligible for a HUP.
And those 3 months are the time it'll take for the developer community to figure out how to root it and CM9 to be installed on it.
