I remember that Sky Diving School here in Calgary, a few years ago they had a woman plunge to her death, and the first thing that the instructor did was smash her altimeter that was supposed to fire her chute.

Sounds like the same thing here, the instructor knows that he did something wrong, but the truth will eventually come out . . . of his a$$
