^ But that is what really happened to Graysmith. It's hard to fault Fincher for trying to be as true to the story as possible.

I actually think it is my favorite Fincher movie (yes even better than Se7en). Maybe that's in part because I have read and watched a ton of stuff on the Zodiac killer and it came as close to the real thing as you could hope. The casting was flawless from top to bottom. That and the whole feel and tone of the movie perfectly suited the time.

The only tiny issue I have with it is that it doesn't really commit to one person being the likely killer. They left it open ended that is may have been Arthur Lee Allen or it could have been this guy: Sorry not sure how to embed this one.

Now while I watch Se7en more often, an inexperienced Brad Pitt doesn't quite compare to Gyllenhaal and the scenes with Paltrow are uneven. If it weren't for Freeman and Spacey that movie would be pretty ordinary imo.
