And I am not a Nolan fanboy, I don't really like the ending in The Prestige either, but I loved how Bale's character was able to pull it off the final act. The script was mostly written by Christopher's brother Johnathan, who could be blamed for some of the faults in that movie.

I also never said it was "amazing", it was a solid 4 out of 5 star movie marred by Johansson's sub-par acting, and the somewhat convoluted ending as you said. However, that would likely be his "worst" movie which is still better than some of the movies the other directors have worked on.
I'd gladly watch any other "worst" film by some of the director's you mentioned that watch The Prestiege again. A great 2/3rds doesn't make up for an ending that was beyond terrible. I can't believe how much applause this film gets while people spend days on end crying about Indy nuking the fridge. And again it all goes back to making the claim that Nolan is the best director out there when he is, in fact, not. Never said he was terrible but he's not some genius god that so many believe who can do no wrong. 7 for 7 is a rediculous claim when Following was a watch and forget film and more people don't even get Inception than those who required a change of underwear. Then there is The Prestige plus Insomnia which was an utter dissapointment as a follow-up to Memnto. Unless your claim was that The Dark Knight Rises (with it's terrible title) is already a garunteed best picture winner which just makes the argument even stupider.
