Initially I was disappointed the Bucs didn't get Claiborne, and even more disappointed it was the Girls coming up to get him. Mostly I was disappointed in the return for trading back, considering what the Vikings got. And then I thought about it some more: The Bucs DBs coach was Claiborne's DB coach at LSU, so if he thought Claiborne was great, he'd be a Buc. But instead he obviously liked Barron, a guy he saw many times, even more.
Then I went back and watched some highlights of the two and thats when I knew why the Bucs took and probably wanted Barron more: He's a ferocious hitter, and Claiborne doesn't look like a very good tackler. The one thing Tampa needs is hitting and tackling, which was atrocious last year.
Then the really cherry was that without the 4th rounder they acquired by trading back, they can't jump the Giants to get Doug Martin at the end of the first, and I love the Martin pickup. So overall great first round for the Bucs.
And this doesn't help for Claiborne:
