correct if my math is wrong, but if the sales tax difference was a full 1.0% then you would have to be spending $50,000 to make a $500 difference - so unless you are an NBA'r who would spend that on bling - the only other items that would cost that much are vehicles and homes and i'd expect you could negotiate that difference away.

Difference is 1.5% ... on a $30,000 car is $450. As to negotiating difference almost a certaintity that the dealer in the 1.5% locale will be able to match or beat the price in the 3% Glendale.... no reason not to.
Just a basic life philosophy of mine .... raising taxes almost never generates the revenues intended.
They could add a surtax to the tickets to a coyotes game..... You can obviously see that it would result in even less tickets being sold and a loss of revenue.
