I still cannot believe what a slaughter it turned out to be. The Wildrose is obviously going to have to shift themselves more to the center if they ever want to be competitive in the cities (winning 2 out of 44 is pretty telling of that). In fact I'd argue the Liberals and NDP might have a better chance going forward because they can actually win in the cities (as evidence by both getting more seats than the WR).

Seemingly everything was set up for the Wildrose, they almost couldn't write a better set of circumstances leading up to the election, and they failed to cash in. Much like the Canucks last year where everything set up for them and then a riot happened, I wonder if Danielle and company won't be ruing the one that got away for a long time.

I'd also like to congratulate Alison Redford on becoming the first female elected premier in Alberta history.
